Soap! Anyone?

DSC01816
I haven't mentioned it here yet, but I make soap. For a while this year I got out of it, but now I'm back on the ball! I decided to get your opinions on what scents I should purchase to make my spring / summer collection. You can vote on Fragrance Oils, or Essential Oils or both! Take the survey, and leave a comment and I will send two of you two bars of soap from my winter collection. I will choose a winner on January 10th. Please check back then to see if you are a winner!
~ if you aren't a blogger user and would still like to be entered leave you Ravelry name, or just your first name so I have some way to ID you :-)

  2. I tried doing the survey, it will only take one answer per column though I thought you wanted something for each scent not just 4. I'll check back later...

  3. I had the same problem as commenter, Jackie. There were others in each category I wanted to check, but was allowed only one answer per column.

  8. Oh I love the fruity scents! Woodsy makes me sneeze... :( But then again, I enjoy it on my husband every now and again.. so there were so many options!

Thank you again for letting us participate in the survey.

  9. I came on over from Ravelry. Hub was just asking me to make him some coriander soap, that's on my to buy list this year. There were two EOs on your survey I didn't recognize, I'll have to go look 'em up!

  11. I voted on the essential oils of course, the more natural the better. :) I had no idea you had a blog. I will add you to my list.

  12. Great blog! I really prefer EO's, but some FO's do really 'stick' in the soap better. I made some grapefruit/cedarwood stuff last summer and it was a big hit. Good luck deciding!

  13. I took your survey too. Hope to see you at YY sometime!

  14. I just did both surveys. Isn't it hard to pick which ones to make. I just started making soap, made my second batch last night! I spent over an hour yesterday looking at fragrance oils and still can't decide which I should order.

  15. Here from Ravelry! Took both surveys - it's easier to rank them for someone else than it is when I'm pondering over my own soap pot!

  16. Hi there! Wonkydonkey from Ravelry here. I love the herbal scents, so they got higher ranking in my book, but it's still a struggle to decide on a blend. Good luck!

  20. Hello. I saw your blog mentioned in the Ravelry RAK group so I thought i would check it out! I took both your scent surveys. I have made candles and lip balm but the whole lye thing kinda freaks me out so I havent tried soap yet.
    Anyhoo Happy New Year!

  21. What a neat idea to survey and what interesting choices on both surveys!

  22. I took both surveys. Great way to get an idea of what people like in the way of scents. I hope your mouth heals quickly. Your DH certainly is a sweetie.

  23. I took the survey! It was hard to choose without just marking all of them "great!" :)

  24. Your soaps are very pretty. I voted for essentials in your survey - so many people use the fragrence oils in weird scents like tutti frutti cotton candy (which may taste really yummy, but why would I want to smell like that!?!?!??)

    See you over at Ravelry!

  25. love the blog, have done the survey for both types of fragrance, but must say I prefer essentials more. Good luck with your etsy store.

  27. I took both of the surveys. I didn't recognize one or two of the names, though. Love fragrant soap. It is a great way to start the day.

  28. I took the essential oil one only. I have issues with fake stuff for some reason.

I am also allergic to Aloe Vera so if that is in the soaps tell me so I can gift them and not use them.

  29. I took both surveys as well.. I prefer earthy scents (patchouli, cedarwood) or citrus (lemongrass/bergamot) -- I didn't see any spicy scents (like spiced chai) represented since some folks like spicy but not appley scents. Hope that helps! :)

  30. i did both surveys for you, I love handmade soap, yours look very yummy!

  31. Way cool! I love handmade soap. :D I voted on both! :D

  32. I came on over from the Etsy shop forum on Ravelry.

I voted only on the essential oils. I love handmade soap - this year I've vowed to only wash with it (trying to not use plastic bottles!).

  33. I voted in both surveys but I am partial to essential oils since I sometimes have allergies to fragrance oils. Good luck!
